The Clinicians Health Channel is pleased to introduce EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), a new search tool that helps you find evidence and information from across CHC's subscribed resources in one place.
If you've ever used Google, you'll already be familiar with the basic idea. Instead of searching the open web, EBSCO Discovery Service searches across the trusted journals, databases, and other information resources available through CHC. This means you can search multiple resources at the same time from a single search box, without having to open and search each database individually.
The EBSCO Discovery Service search box is available directly from the CHC homepage, making it a quick and convenient starting point whenever you need information to support patient care, professional development, education, research, or service improvement.
Why use EBSCO Discovery Service?
Many clinicians face the same research challenge: knowing where to start.
CHC provides access to a wide range of high-quality information resources, including biomedical databases, evidence-based medicine resources, nursing and allied health content, and journal collections. While these resources remain available individually, EBSCO Discovery Service offers a simpler way to search across much of this content at once.
By entering a topic, clinical question, condition, treatment, author or article title into the search box, EBSCO Discovery Service retrieves relevant results from across participating CHC resources and presents them in a single results list.

Finding the full text
One EBSCO Discovery Service’s most useful features is the Full Text Finder. Sometimes a search result may come from a database that does not directly provide access to the full article. Full Text Finder works behind the scenes to help determine whether CHC may provide access to that article elsewhere. Full Text Finder will guide you to the full text from another source, helping you spend less time searching and more time reading. For busy clinicians this means fewer dead ends and a simpler path to the content you need.
Looking for a specific journal?
While EBSCO Discovery Service is designed for topic-based searching, Publication Finder is useful when you want to find a specific journal or publication.
For example, if you know the journal title and want to check whether CHC provides access to it, Publication Finder allows you to search and browse available publications and view coverage information.
Publication Finder can be accessed from within the EBSCO Discovery Service interface and provides a convenient way to explore the journals available through CHC subscriptions.
