What is the CHC Clinical Champions Program?
The Clinicians Health Health Channel (CHC) helps ensure Victorian clinicians have access to the information they need, anytime and anywhere, helping improve patient outcomes. To help clinicians make the most of the resources available, CHC has created a specialised training initiative - the Clinical Champions Program.
The CHC Clinical Champions Program is a modular educational program designed to enhance clinicians' knowledge of CHC’s resources, search tools, and practical applications.
- Specialised Training: Participants will develop in-depth knowledge of CHC’s resources, gaining valuable skills for professional development and improving their clinical practice.
- Modular Structure: The program consists of two modules, core and elective, that focus on broadening knowledge CHC’s tools and clinical resources, enhancing research and information literacy, and effective use of CHC’s search functions.
- Tailored One-on-One Training: Clinicians will receive personalised sessions with the CHC trainer, tailored to their specific clinical interests or research needs.
- Role-Specific Learning: Topics covered may include resources tailored to specific roles (e.g., nursing or allied health), advanced literature searches, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
- Supporting CPD: Upon completing the program, participants will receive a certificate that may contribute to CPD requirements.
The program aims to cultivate a community of clinicians who are passionate about ongoing learning, evidence-based practice, and sharing their knowledge with colleagues to make the best use of CHC’s resources.
Program Objectives
The CHC Clinical Champions Program aims to:
- Provide targeted training to address gaps in clinicians’ knowledge of CHC’s resources.
- Support healthcare professionals in research, publication, and professional growth.
- Maximise the use of available information and technology to promote teamwork and communication.
- Encourage evidence-based practice among peers.
- Build clinician capability through education and knowledge sharing.
Championing CHC
Upon completing the program, CHC Clinical Champions will be encouraged to share their knowledge with peers by leading training sessions, facilitating workshops, or participating in initiatives such as journal clubs.
Regular promotion and training are helpful but become even more effective when supported by a network of motivated clinicians who can advocate for CHC and its use at the point of care. CHC Clinical Champions play a key role in promoting the service, and CHC aims to grow their numbers and influence with your support.
